TARGET DETAILS

We supply 2x4 wood frames with backer boards for shooters to place targets on.  Please pay attention when placing targets on the boards to see where
your bullets are going to impact the 100 yard berm, handrails and ties, try not to impact the ties.
Please do not use anything else on the range as a target, don’t destroy range property.

                                 100 Yard Steel Targets

These targets have been donated to the club by a couple of members, for everyone's enjoyment. The funny looking one on the left hand side of the berm is a NRA Standard 1/2 Scale Ram. This target is used for the Lever Action Silhouette Competition, and also for the Hunter Pistol Competition. It is rated for use by .22 Long Rifle rounds, and also Pistol Caliber Cartridges (Like .357 Magnum, .22 Magnum, 9 MM, etc); but is not designed to withstand high velocity rifle rounds like .223; .308, 30-06, etc. During Competition, we shoot 10 rounds at this distance, standing, unsupported; so give it a try. If you can hit it half the time standing unsupported with a rifle you are doing excellent, and two or three hits on this target unsupported with a pistol is great! Have someone watch and let you know where your misses are going, there is about a 6" bullet drop with a .22 from 40 meters to 100 yards, so depending you your zero you may have to aim quite a bit high. Give it a try, if you can hit it at all with a pistol (two hand grip is OK) you should be out at the match! The targets on the right hand side are designed to provide practice for the Military Rifle Match, which is typically shot with 30-06, .308 or .223 Rifles. Again, the match is shot standing unsupported as well as sitting and prone positions. The use of slings is permitted. The smaller gong is the same size as the Bullseye on the 100 Yard Military Target (NRA SR-1 target); and the larger gong is the same size as the Seven Ring.

NEVER place clay birds or ANY TARGET in front of the rail road ties at the 100 yard line.

If you want to shoot at clay birds, put them above the ties in the dirt. Do not prop them up against
the rail road ties.

Please use the steps at the ends and center when setting targets at the 100 yard line.
walking up the berm in front of the ties will only knock the berm material down and expose the
ties to additional damage.

WARNING!

Our range is in the woods, correct, so be aware that we do have unwanted visitors. Copperhead
and other snakes can be anywhere on the property.
In the parking area, around the steps at the firing line, on the range, in the grass close to target
backs and around the steps at the 100 yard line.

RESPECT!

Please be aware of where you put your feet! RESPECT! Please respect the work of others!
DON'T be an IDIOT! DON'T shoot at the hand rails, railroad ties or the distance markers,
they are NOT targets!
